What are your preferences settings, and how much do they increase your processing power from the original settings?

I have 2 ssd disks, 8gb, 1gb vram, running lion. I use prores 4444 with alpha, but I don't know if I should tune up the settings or not.

So to revive this thread: whats the best settings for setting up Modul8 with two SSD disks 8gb data. Should I increase the megabytes stored in memory?

When you guys create content, do you apply motion blur or not?
I heard motion blurring all your clips can make them very blurry when you vj with several layers

What do you recommend for creating VJ loops? Straight vs Premultiplied Alpha? Using the codec ProRes 4444.

I have heard that PNG is the best option when using videoclips with alpha channels. However, on my system ProRes 4444 seems to work better. I uploaded an example. All the clips where made in Apple Motion 4 and 5. Do you also see the jerky motion with PNG, and the smooth motion with ProRes? My clips ...

I heard that the DXV codec is only good for Resolume, that you cant use the hardware acceleration in Modul8. How is the performance with DXV without hardware acceleration. it could be really cool if Modul8 could use that as well, or develop their own VJ codec with alpha channel.

I need to use ProRes because I need support for alpha channels. I tried animation, planar rgb and png, but they all tax my system more than ProRes.
