Is the Core Video written in C/C++ as the Core Audio ?

Do -any- Firewire or USB audio interfaces work as sound-ins or is it just the physical line-in of the computer? I don't think the MOTU itself is all that different from other interfaces... yes i think that it could be great if we could "Trigger" videos :

_ button OFF : layer invisible and video at start point, ready to go
_ button ON : you see the layers and the video plays

In fact it's mix of Alpha and Speed functions
