Touchdesigner is free for non commercial use and is much deeper than just a previz... it is PC only and learning curve is steep... for that reason it is not optimum for many situations... but it can handle the more difficult ones with ease.
download the demo versions and try it out! my next show with madmapper has three 10 mil LED globes, 150 panels of 8mil LED tile and 50 sunstrip lighting fixtures (madlight) all from one output! madmapper is pretty versatile and makes it simple to switch your inputs...generally tho if you get creativ...
because we had some issues and I don't want to "recommend" a product that is not 100% up to my standards. Well I will say that the site is certainly questionable... I ordered a few pieces for testing... I am assuming your issues were with dead on arrival LEDS and improperly made cable... ...
I am unsure why you do not let people know that it is a readily available product AND cheap... available in cool white, warm white and rgb with all the accessories
what is the difference which is best? I have been researching LED strips on all available avenues ( at least that I can find) and have learned that to get the mapping effects that are cool you need addressable strips... there are a couple different types it seems... will any ws2801, ws2811 or ws2812...
the custom surface option would be super handy... it seems like a no brainer there must be a really good reason for it not to exist... I am way to uneducated in the inner workings of the program to even speculate
