I hope developers would look into this. Problems with RAM preload may be the cause why I could not use M8 for live shows any longer due to stalling when new clip is loading. Discussed here: http://forum.garagecube.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8115 You are correct, there is a delay when clips (especi...
I just wanted to follow up on this one and say that I'm now more convinced than ever that if your media is on an SSD drive, the best setting for clips is always "Direct from Disk." Now maybe someone will come along and disagree or prove me wrong, but I had been using a mix of both RAM base...
I've been experimenting with this lately and I've come to determine that if you're pulling from an SSD, "Direct from Disk" seems to be significantly faster than either RAM pre-load or uncompressed. On my rMBP with 16 Gigs of RAM, I'll see a several second delay with certain 100 Meg (or so)...
Fun to see alternative solutions to the fading problem. I'm looking into a smoother way of solving it with a real, programmed, interpolated fade between two layers. Were do you guys feel that the fade is most needed - with the time or the bpm method, or are both as important? If I had to choose one...
As I indicated in my reply to the support ticket, my belief at this point is that Modul8 is working correctly with Universe 0 (which, for some reason, my lighting software doesn't send) but that higher universes do not work.
Well I'll be damned. I had no idea that window was there. I guess you learn something new every day. Thanks for the info! At least that gives me one more troubleshooting tool!
I think I understand the DMX module (which I think is what you need), but it's good to know that you were seeing input from Art-Net. Can I ask though, when you say you were seeing feedback in Modul8, where were you seeing it?
Has anyone gotten Art-Net working with the 2.7 beta? I posted in the support forum and contacted support directly but I haven't heard anything back in about a week. I'd just like to know if anyone has had success with this!
I just wanted to chime in here and say that I also have this need and I have found a way to kind of fake the fading and still use the slide show from folder function (which I need in my particular instance). What I do is setup two layers which reference a folder of images (can be the same images or ...
