    Video Out to MX50

    by doubledrop » Wed Aug 02, 2006 9:40 pm

hi, excuse me being a newbie with probably a daft question, but here goes...

how do i get the MODUL8 video signal out of my G5 to MX50 vision mixer?
Usually from After Effects/FInal Cut/Motion I go Firewire to DSR-11 deck, then S-video from there to mixer or projector. But I can't find any controls for this within Modul8, just the full screen 2nd monitor toggle.

also, when's 2.5 likely to be available? i'm demoing 2.0 at the moment, and intend to buy this week, but should I hang on and wait?

Anyway it's wicked s/w guys, loving it.

    cheers,

should i buy a new video card for s-video output ?

    to further the above question....

would it be better to avoid firewire out altogether, and buy a new graphics card that has it's own on-board s-video out socket?

my G5 currently runs nice and fast with ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256mb card, but has no direct video outs, so i always route via firewire through DSR11 dvcam deck to s-video.

    cheers,

You simply need to use an DVI -> S-VIDEO/VIDEO COMP. adapter.
