    Akai MPD16 + MIDI Question

    by transoptic » Sat Jan 13, 2007 5:50 pm

    Hello,

Is anyone using the Akai MPD16? it seems that it might be ideal for clip-switching, with the 4 x 4 rows of pads. And it's relatively inexpensive.

I'm looking for a controller to accompany my UC-33e...

Also, with two USB controllers, is it possible to just daisy-chain them together with a MIDI cable, rather than having to also plug the second one in via USB?

I'm sort of new to MIDI, so thanks for any help!

    Cheers!

i am going to get this drumpad too. I have run two midi triggers into one usb and into separate ones. made no difference as i was able to tell.
also i used old kiti kat drum brain with piezo triggers to trigger clps to the beat.

...the MPD-24 looks pretty cool too, but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra 100€.

it does have a row of 6 faders.... which might be useful since they are close to the pads you'd trigger clips with.
