Hello

I just purchased Modual8 last night and have been loving it!

A few questions,

I plan on using longer video clips, 60 to 90 minutes in length. I will be running a 1.67 G4 powerbook with 2g of Ram. Will I be better off streaming from a DVCam deck or from hard drive? If I go with a hard drive any suggestions on the best one for the job? I'm guessing FW800...

Also if i want to be working on a set without a DJ present, can I just patch my audio out jack into my audio in jack and play music from Itunes to take advantage of the sound based effects? Or is there some way to route the internal sound that I am missing?

Also is there a way to turn on soft take over with the midi controls?

And this is driving me crazy, is there a way to select layers via midi?

I don´t really know what you mean with the first question...
If you select POSITION instead of FOCUS when you edit the midi map you may choose midi for layers...

ok, here is an example...

say i have blur mapped to a knob on my midi control box when i twist the knob currently it jumps to that position. i am used to other other applications creating a soft takeover effect where it slowly moves to that position to so the effect isn't jarring. i suppose a work around for this would be to set the position before the clip is live...
