Yeah, rumor has, but have you seen any external ones on the market?

The only one I've found is this one:
    http://alatestreview-cnet.com.com/exter ... test2-cnet

It has an eSATA (as well as USB 2.0) interface. It's pretty expensive in realation to storage capacity. I won't get an internal Solid state disk either because their low storage capacity. Just have to wait and see how they develop. In a year or two they will be "bigger" and cheaper.

You can buy the bare bones SSD drive and purchase an enclosure for it. Boris has done this and has been enjoying the responsiveness in conjunction with modul8. He did this after raves from one of the (formerly known as) Exyzt crew bought one.

It mostly depends on your needs vs. speed benefits. If you want a highly responsive system 32 GB is well within the minimum capacity for running OS X with a little extra room for your VJ loops.

This is also pretty decent as an external drive for VJ loops.

I can pretty much put all of mine on a USB key as I keep my loops small for optimal performance. But that's just the style I work with.

Personally, while it is tempting I have foregone spending the money on one... for now. I am willing to bet that in the next 3 years when I purchase a new laptop it will ship with an SSD drive.
