well that sucks but thanks for clarifying... guess it just means any multiscreen installation needs to budget in a few scan converters as well :)

    hello Boris

i have a dualcore twice 2.7GHZ which is not the very last G5 model
but just the one before the quads
i planned to add an AGP card (ATI RADEON X800 XT Mac Edition .
Legoman told me that multi outpout woiuld only run on pcixpress
G5 and i saw you affirmed that "In the next version 2.5 it will be possible to use multi output, but only with pci-express video card. (last G5 tower)."

on mine i can read about pciX and not PCIXpress
can you tell why it wouldn t work on such an equipment?
as i plan to buy a macbook soon
is it preferable to think about adding an xpressvideocard
by the pcmcia bus(i don t know if it already exists...)
or will i be forced to use the matrox converter?
i m preparing a performance for june and would really like to have
to have my setup ready before it
    thanks by advance for answering

    That's right !

Please note : G5 dualcore or quad tower have PCI-EXPRESS dual processor tower NOT (Is not the same).

by the way G5 dual processor tower have only ONE AGP slot (sorry) !
well, PCI bus is too slow for that, and I never found a PCI-X video card.

But, you can (i think) probably use one PCI card for the main interface WITHOUT preview and the two output from the AGP card, but is not very usefull (no preview).

Well, It works pretty well only with :

    New G5 towers with PCI-EXPRESS
    OR/AND MatroxDualhead2Go

Boris, i have the 6600 installed as a second card and a 7800GT as my primary card running the cinema display. the 6600 currently drives only a TV monitor (via DVI-S-video adapter on the second port) leaving the 1st port DVI free and the second DVI port on the 7800GT free.

theoretically i should be able to drive three VGAs off of the available outputs, right? however at present running the beta of 2.5 i'm finding that running anything only half way challenging in fx causes the 6600 output to go black or one layer to show as only white triangualr shape. is this *normal*? or am i missing something in the config?

this is only one TV screen at 800*600 res, so how would performance be affected when driving three external projectors?

    thx

    Hi........
I found this -SideCar- for Mac,Plug-and-play: works with any PowerBook running Mac OS 9.X, Mac OS 10.2.8, Mac OS 10.3.3 or later
Requires only PowerBook or iBook with PC Card slot, it's very expensive but it's working http://www.digitaltigers.com/sidecar-mac.shtml
