Update?

Hi,

Just wondering how the update is coming. I do video gigs on a fairly sporadic basis so I haven't performed with Modul8 in a month or two, but I've got 2, maybe 3 gigs coming up at the end of this month and I was wondering if I would have the benefit of an updated version.

No pressure :D just wondering!

The next release is V2.0. It is a major release with many new features and improvements. We are very close to announce the definitive list of changes. Soon after a beta version will be available to all the registered users.

Even if the V2.0 does not include all the suggestions that our users requested (well, I don't think will see that before the V4.0 ;)), you will see that there is quiet a bit of new stuff. Do not forget that V1.0 of Modul8 was released only four months ago.

Yves.

yves,

Awesome! Please don't think I'm complaining about the speed of the releases. I am, in fact, thrilled with the truly outstanding program and support you guys are providing. You should head over to the Native Instruments TraktorDJ message board sometimes and see how I brag about you (damn do I wish you guys made DJ software)! IMHO, I think it is truly unbelievable what you have accomplished and can't wait to see what's next!

Evaluating several tools right now...

Yeah, I'm in the mode of evaluating several tools right now. While Modul8 has excellent overall performance, 1.1 is a bit lean on features (not looking for *everything*, but more than what is in 1.1)

The three major tools I'm looking at are all about to release updates. I'm watching to see what they will include, before choosing which one to purchase.

Breaks down like this -
 Modul8 - Modern, fast, elegant. Very limited features.
 Isadora - Versatile, excellent performance. Too much pre-show work to do.
 FlowMotion - Nice feature set, great price. No freeframe on Mac, mediocre performance.

Isadora, and Flowmotion are both in beta with the new versions, and are both making nice improvements. They've both announced *most* of the features which will be in the new versions. Modul8... hasn't yet. It is one of the reasons I'm waiting to decide, but I can't wait forever, as I've got some gigs in the near future...

We'll publish a complete description of all the V2.0 features at the beginning of the next week.

Best Regards,
Yves.

That is great news, and great timing. I can't wait, and will be watching closely. Thanks!
