Wow, some EXCELLENT stuff I can't wait to play with. And some stuff I didn;t expect and particularly will see if it works for me(the transformer/particle system). Looks grand and I can't wait! I've got lots of gigs to test this with ;)

The "pseudo loop sampling" looks very, very interesting, it's like my Electribe's Motion-Seq functionality!

And the record option will prove very useful, now we'll need a way to record all that audio as well and make a complete mixdown of a session :D

I also hope for the performance not to drop, since it has to be the #1 element that made me buy modul8.

    Keep up the great work.

I love the features you are proposing and I have had great fun using this tool. Still, no tap tempo? No real way to sync to music? Am I missing something?

Yes, recording audio would really help, particularly for those of us more interested in stand-alone video art pieces.

We just did not have the time to implement it. Now this can be done pretty easily as a module - and I guess we will implement it this way.

    Modules

    by Bear » Fri Nov 26, 2004 12:37 pm

Great job! I love the sound of the modules. Will there be developer docs for these? I'd love to know what will and won't be possible.

One thing I'd like to be able to do is step through a movie frame by frame, with keyboard and/or midi keys. Can that be done through a module (maybe it can be done now, and I'm being dense, but the scrub controls aren't quite doing what I want).

    New features

    by visitor » Fri Nov 26, 2004 7:07 pm

I read the other thread on Freeframe effects, and I understand the reasoning... so that makes sense.

The rest of the new features sound fantastic... BUT, I'm blown away by the lack of Tap Tempo, or some kind of FFT control of LFOs, as well as just better control of LFOs. To me, synchronization of visuals to audio is completely critical to a tool like this. The current generic amplitude function is hardly tunable enough to be effective, and the very broad scope LFO control is equally distancing. Additionally, LFO and tempo functionality should be pervasive, with linking allowed to every possible aspect of the program.

You could throw in whatever innovative features you want, but good syncing tools would mean a lot more to me.
