Can I capture a video by using USB or do I need Firewire?

if it's a webcam, there's some apps to hack the webcam to allow using it in iChat (as a firewire webcam) and it should work in modul8. Again, modul8 works with quicktime, if you can see it in quicktime, you can see it in modul8 (more or less)
