Quartz Problem

Hey there,

I just noticed that there seems to be a major performance loss for quartz compositions in versions 2.53 & 2.54

2.52 is still fine, quartz comps play full speed, but it looks like in the newer versions, I only get about 10fps no matter what composition I use, even very simple ones.

All preferences are the same in all versions, I'm on a mac book pro 2.0, 2BG of ram, ATI radeon x1600 256mb, os 10.4.9

Thanks

Adam

There is a problem with this QT version which forces us to turn off CoreVideo acceleration in this context. Apple knows about this problem and hopefully they will release a fix soon.

In the meantime, the only solution would be downgrade to 7.1.3.

Back on 7.1.3, i had trouble with multiprojection with 7.1.6.
I'm on Mac Pro 2.66Ghz - 5 Giga RAM - HD RAID 0 - QT 7.1.3 - M8 2.5.4

dont be afraid of quicktime, I don't know what's the matter with it but I use the laste version of quicktime and don't see any problems... but maybe it happens with things I don't use in modul8...

what Mac have you got? G5 or Mac Pro? Isn't multiprojection broken ?

I have a mac book pro actually, and I don't use multiprojection... I'm running the last version of mac OS and last version of modul8 and the latest version of quicktime.

It was working fine with a single projection for me, but not on multi projection. Maybe it's because i had 3 Nvidia cards and 1 ATI.Does anyone use multiprojection with quicktime 7.1.6? does it work? Anyway, Yves told me that multiprojection was broken under 7.1.6 as you can see down there.
