    by JonesyJohnny » Mon May 07, 2007 12:15 am

I am still trying to figure out what the best video card for my system will be. I have a Powermac G4 that doesn't have dual monitor capabilites. Below is the one I plan on purchasing. I plan on just using one output. Do I need this? Can I go to a lower model and still be ok? If this isn't what I need any suggestions? Should I go PCI or AGP?

Fully supported within Apple Motion and Aperture
AGP 2x 4x 8x operation, works with Apple G4 & G5 Computers with AGP bus slot
Works with Digital and/or Analog LCD and CRT monitors up to 30" with a max 3D display resolution of up to 2048x1536 @60Hz
Extended display, Mirrored display and TV+VGA capable!

    Requirements :

Apple G4 series and/or Apple G5 AGP equiped computers
Sawtooth, Gigabit Ethernet, Digital Audio, QuickSilver, Mirrored Door, FireWire 800 and any other Apple G4 computer (except the Apple G4 Cube) as well as Apple G5 computers equiped with a AGP bus slot

On the G4 generation, you must use an AGP card.

Please explain what I am missing when using PCI card. I have Radeon 9200 SE 128meg PCI working very good on G4 AGP Graphics. I used AGP 9600 too and do not remember anything different except this was much faster card..
