Another request...

OK, here is something that I was looking into and thinking that it just might eventually be possible with M8.

I'm adding a second projection system and I have been looking into solutions to do a video wall (with two projectors which would ultimately make a 1600x600 projection area). Now, if anyone has looked at this stuff, it's not cheap to span two monitors which made me wonder--isn't Modul8 supposed to be "resolution independent"? Would it eventually be possible to make Modul8 just use extended desktop functionality and project across two monitors? Or, is this something that would be incrediblly difficult to do?

If it can be done, I think it would be REALLY awesome...

With the current version of Modul8 you can't do it only with software. (We are considering many options for future versions, but with PCI buses we are always a bit limited).

Possible solutions:

1) Use two computers
2) Use a splitter, like this one (yes, a bit expensive):

"Stand-Alone Display Wall Controller (VQS01) 2x2 for ~ £1195.00 at http://www.ems-digitalmedia.com

EMS is pleased to announce the launch of a new Stand-Alone Display Wall Controller (see attachment).
- Turn any PC into a 2x2 Display Wall Controller
- Use multiple units to increase the size of PC based video walls
- DVI and Analogue (VGA) graphics cards and displays supported"

Cool, I do hope it is something you can figure out! I mean, I guess I just figured you guys have done so many other incredible things that this one should be a piece of cake :D

Personally even the video wall stuff wouldn't work for me because I just want to do a 2x1 (2 wide by 1 high) matrix and I haven't seen anything that would do that.

When you speak of the PCI bus, I assume you're talking about the bandwidth?

Well if you think about you could do a 2 by 1 pretty nicely, basically what you can do is get a 2 x 2 system, hook up the top two horizontal monitors or projectors, and stretch the screen to fit on 1/2 of the way through the monitor, becuase you only have the top two hooked up no one will see the bottom two! this is only if in v2.0 you can be able to stretch the screen out of proportion
