Any support for multiple live capture inputs?

    by tinisi » Sat Nov 17, 2007 5:48 am

    Folks (Garagecube support/sales?),
I am previewing and evaluating VJ software, and I love what I see of Muldul8. However, there is one thing that Arkaos seems to be able to do that Modul8 can't. It appears that I can attach two live cameras to Arkaos, and I see no way to do that with Module8.

I realize that Mac OSX doesn't support two FW cameras (as least not on one bus), but I really want to mix at least 2 live sources with clips and loops. Hoping for a low res USB2 capture for machinma or a second camera, and one higher quality DV camera on Firewire.

Anyone have any suggestions? It sure looks like the program is extensible as hell, but the "special" media types library only shows one live camera input.

    Thanks much!

if you are using a laptop, you can use an external USB video capture card like a pinnacle or EchoFX in adition of a firewire camera for multiple vidoe inputs.

I only see one live video source in the "sp" tab??

Thanks for the answer, but I am still not sure how I can use two cameras at the same time and mix them.

I see the tab of "sp" media sources that has the test pattern and the live video capture source. There is only one video capture source. I see that in preferences I can switch camera is used. I have a crappy USB cam, and an iSight so I can test this ;-)

I sure hope there is something i am not seeing odul8 is much cooler than the current version of Arkaos...
