Hi! Some Modul8 questions... new to the world of mac

    by maxus » Thu Apr 17, 2008 11:12 pm

just bought myself a macbook pro.. and i'm on the look to change the way I work to integrate myself on the apple world.. I stumbled on modul8 and I have a few questions before buying a license..

Intel indeo 4.5. avi videos and .swf animations are the formats that most of my work is. I started rendering some photo-jpegs videos and I like it. but in the meanwhile I need to use almost 300 GB of avis and swfs.. Is there any way to use intel indeo 4.5. on modul8? How long will it take to modul8 support flash files again in retail version?

I compreend that photo-jpeg quicktimes are the way to go.. but I need to start working asap...

Other non-related question.. any free program to mass convert avis/swfs in mac? something like virtual dub for pc.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello Maxus,

The current 2.5.5 beta 3 version have support for flash and is quite stable.

If you could open your .swf files with Safari, you will be able to open them with Modul8. However, not all .swf files are "scratchable" depending on how the internal flash code (ActionScript et al.) are written.

Concerning Intel Indeo 4.5, if you manage to play these AVIs with Quicktime Player, you will be able to use them with Modul8.

    Best regards.

i use VIRTUALHUB for batch converting movies.
you might also oonsider using quicktime h.264 for your movie. its quite small in size and stable.

I were there, where you are know a couple of months ago, ROOVID Lite is the best option I found when I moved from PC to MAC. you can download it here: http://www.roobasoft.com/rooVid/

    I use photo-jpeg codec 75% 640x 480
