Newby question: How to sync a backup laptop and more

Hi,

I'm a complete newby to modul8 and have some questions. Hope some of the experienced users can help me.

I'm going to use Modul8 on a MacBook Pro with a triplehead2go and three beamers. I want to use a second MacBook as backup, and it would be great if I could sync it to the first one, so that I can switch easily in case of a crash. Is this possible? Or should I use VGA switches or something?

Hi,
Be careful that MacBook has not the same video card than a MB Pro. It does not support three outputs via Matrox TripleHead, only two, with inferior resolutions.
MacBook 2048x768 (2x 1024x768) Not supported
MacBook Air 2048x768 (2x 1024x768) Not supported
MacBook Pro 3840x1200 (2x 1920x1200) 3840x1024 (3x 1280x1024)

Copying all M8 project stuff (medias) on another machine, anyway, remains a good idea. The best is to have two similar machines plugged into the same VGA switch.

Or connect them with a lan cable and use the send over network function.

If you use your second laptop as an emergency machine, it would be better if the machines are not lan connected. A single crash would damage both.
It's different if you want to run two machines together on the same M8 doc, in this case, obviously, a lan connection is obligatory.
