    3D Distortions

    by Dijjital » Tue May 20, 2008 7:03 am

Hi, I'm doing some projection onto globes for an upcoming project. I'm looking for a way to run an inverse spherize filter on the video so that it counters the visual distortion of the curved projection surface. Is this possible with Modul8? Is there an add on module that handles simple 3D distortion?
    Thanks!

PS I searched the forums and couldn't find any threads regarding this, if I missed sorry for the repost

If you use the sphere patch distortion and zoom into it so that you're "inside" the sphere you'll get just that. Mask the output with a circular mask to avoid image spillage. Ideally you should distort your footage in after effects, there are plugins designed just for that. Another option are freeframe plugins.

Its on the main interface-patch-sphere icon-twiddle the layer scale slider to zoom in and out
