    hi there...

just starting also to get mobile :) and still looking with what VJ app I'll work. did all the time work with the equipment from my partner and my tuned AGP G4 :)

I've now bought the 1.67 Ghz powerbook with 128 MB ATI ... it's the best computer I've ever own and the keyboard-light is perfect for vj-action.

when 10.4 is released, I guess Modul8 v2.0 will be my choice...

concerning RAM for the pb, in germany a very good partner is dsp-info, who have good service, good prices and stuff that's meant and tested for macs ... here's the link: www.dsp-info.com

    couple of points:
    it depends on cash
    if you've got loads:
go for the best powerbook you can buy and replace all the ram with delux gamers ram - u'll reall y notice the difference.
the portability, light-up keyboard and slickness are great
    if u don't:
get a radeon 9800 for your dual g4

    I have 3 machines now: a g5 dual, a g4 dual, and a powerbook g4 1.5
the machine i take out for important gigs is the g4 dual with radeon 9800 and radeon 9200
for 2 reasons reliability and drive space ( i use a 3 10K drive scsi array)
