    Quartz Composer

    by Guest » Wed May 11, 2005 3:14 pm

    Hello,

will the new version be compatible with Quartz Composer files? Therefore you would have nearly unlimited possibilities...
Theoretically it should, when it is Quicktime 7 compatible? When there would be a possibility to connect ports to a kind of user interface it would be really awesome!
I checked it out and played the whole nights around with that... couldn´t stop.

    cheers..

We tested a couple of QC files and it is working fine. Integration can be improved especially on the performance side. We'll do that in a future version.

Quartz composer is a kind of modular 3D visuals design app that is derived from Pixel Shox. Quartz composer is part of OS 10.4, Tiger, that makes use of the graphics GPU. You can create interesting motion effects with particles and 3D with QC. I am guessing that compositions created using QC may be accessible to Modul8 and that future versions of Modul8 will deliver these in a strreamlined, integrated fashion. The garagecube crew can probably give you a better idea as to what this is and how it will be implemented in Modul8. If you do not have Tiger, you can still download pixelshox, but without the full functionality of Quartz Composer.
    The Revolution must be televised!

When you got Tiger, simply install the Developer Tools. You´ll find it there. It can be used very easy or indepth core ;-)

It does indeed - if your QC comp is set up with MIDI interaction, your controller will still work to affect the parameters of your comp from within modul8.
