Midi Hell

Hi all,

I am attempting the midi mapping conquest of ableton live into Modul8 and am running into some issues, I have spent a good time reading other posts, to no avail.

Problem 1:
When mapping midi to the GN-Mixer module, I mapped a midi note from ableton to "next" and "prev" but when It sends the midi, it goes two clips ahead... not one. then when I do it manually (with mouse in M8) from there on it goes two again, so Once midi mapping is engaged (and forever turns orange) it always toggles twice, even if I stop using midi. Really sucks I need it to work. It works for key mapping, why not midi!

Problem 2:
Sometimes when Im midimapping, it all screws up and midi maps delete themselves.

Problem 3:
Is there anyway to get around the latch/toggle issue? I have to create clips that hold a note down for super long so that the note-off does not trigger the message again.

please help! I promise, I will dance naked into an office building in downtown minneapolis if you can help me.

p.s. does the 2.5.5 update fix any of these?

EDIT: I just fixed problem one with the toggle checkbox in the GN mixer module editor

Congrats on finding a solution for problem 1.

Problem 2:
I have done a lot of midi binding with modul8 using some very strange software interfaces like DmidiD for wireless communication. In most cases when something got deleted it was usually due to being drunk or stoned while working or just not really, really being careful to not trigger to touch any controller when mapping other then the one I am supposed to focus on. I also create frequent backups of my files before I start working on them.

Problem 3:
Not sure what you mean by 'latch.' Note on is ON and note OFF is off. It can be set in the hardware you are using like the MPD24 or you can use a module to determine how that behaves.
