BPM detection from audio in - Ahhh!!

    by pixel8 » Fri Jul 18, 2008 11:35 am

    Hi all,

Have been searching the forums with little luck on this one. Has anyone got a setup to do this? I would have thought this would be relatively simple, but it appears not (or I am missing something?)

I was thinking it would work something like this :-

BPM detection software (monitoring audio input) -> generate midi clock -> link to modul8 Global midi.

There must be a way, no? Ableton can do this, right? How about a lightweight BPM detection software OR cycling 74.. Anyone?

I shall keep searching and post here if I find a solution.

    Cheers,
    Andy

redsoud soundbite micro. A little hardware tool that generates midi clock from a audio in and keeps it in Sync. Its thought as a Dj Sampler, but it really works very good. ive got my complete Setup synced by midi( Edirol V-4,Entrancer,Modul8 and Resolume).
