I am trying to use the M-Audio Xponent as a midi controller for modul8, and it works good except two things...

The first and most important thing is that when I connect one of the turnblades of the xponent to a knob in modul8 and turn the turnblade, the knob doesnt go around but just turns a little but (a bit more if I turn faster) and than goes back by itself as the turnblade slows down and stops.
I really excpected to be able to make the knob turn just the same way as I turned the turnblade on the xponent. Is that possible in some way?

The Other problem (not as important, but still) is that I cant use the trackpad-like thing on the xponent to control both the x and y value of something. That should be possible, and I guess that it doesnt only affect this specific controller...

Anyone have any idea about how to fix these problems?? (or at least the first one)

There has been a discussion about these kind of controllers on forums. I have HerculesDJ console that has the same problems. And there is no good solution at least for my controller. Scratch pads or turntable simulators send midi data what M8 reads as note on/note off(0-1). And not as rotary pots 0-127.

It is possible to write a custom module for these functions. You need to know Python to do this. BUT you might be able to hack a module from the library that was made for custom hardware such as the module for the VMX VJ controller. I am not very knowledgeable in this area so I can't go beyond my mere suggestion. Sorry.

PCDJ has a feature that allows you to visually choose the xponent to mix video with. I don't use a PC and I'm not a programmer. But I know the Xponent has to work with Modul8. Can someone write this? I know it has to be fairly simple and I MUST CONTROL MODUL8 WITH MY XPONENT... I MUST!!!! And you must too!

any word on this? i currently have a m-audio x-session which is small and limited but works quite well-- was planning on buying an xponent though, mostly for the turntables. do they work well for scratching? need to know before i sink $450!

. well, i don't have an xponent, but i'd suggest checking the manual and see if there's a way to change the transmit mode of the turnblade - meaning, it might be possible to set it in such a way that it increases the midi value consistently and doesn't return to zero when you stop moving it...
