hiho guys and girls,

i use my x-session pro as midi interface and according to that i have mapped the different buttons to the midi-map

today i also connected the wii mote and now i have small problems with my midi-mapping.

the wii sends the input over channels which should be used by the x-session pro..

is there a programm where i can see which channel sends which signal? or even route the signals through certain channels?
it seems that the 2 devices are sending their signals through the same channels..
help anyone?

What do you use for Wii to send MIDI. If OSCulator, then you can assign channels and so on to Wii controls.
If WiitoMidi then channel choose button is right there.
And please post your experience too. I have not succeed any reliable usage of Wii in M8.

i use WiiToMidi to catch the signals. I just didn't found the MIDI-Channel select button - altough it was there all the time.

But now again, I have a problem.

Quote from the manual
"You can use the 1 button to toggle learning mode. When learning mode is engaged the A, B, C, and Z buttons control which MIDI channels send."

But somehow he doesn't send a signal if I'm in learning mode - no matter which submode i choose.

Does your learning mode work properly?

EDIT: Don't ask me why, but after a few restarts of Modul8 and Wii2Midi I at least got the learning to send only one signal.

So far i can say:
Accelaration:
x and y axis working
z nearly not responding
sensitivity = 2 or 3

Velocity:
if i'm in learning mode the 3 axis are responding each for his own
had to turn the sensitivity to 0 in order to get "good" signals. with sensitivity = 3 there is nearly no response
if i turn the learning mode off there is nearly no response

Position:
same as with velocity: signal in learning mode but no signal if i turn it off.
sensitivity = 0 --> "good" signal

Orientation:
same as with velocity and position: signal in learning mode but no signal if i turn it off.
again only sensitivity = 0 delivers a "good" signal


Tested only the WiiMote cause i don't own a Nunchuk. I will mail my testresults to the developers maybe they can tell us more.

vankaru: because i failed with wiitomidi i tried "osculator" (http://www.osculator.net/wiki/Main/Download).
and this neat little proggy is doing fine for me (at least at the moment)

could you post your OSCulator setting (you can save and zip this file) and a explanation for mapping in Modul8

mapping in wiitomidi:
1-start wiitomidi
2-start modul8
3-switch to learning mode
4-start midi mapping
5-select button in modul8
6-press a, b or a combination of both and wave your wiimote

mapping in osculator:
1-start osculator
2-start modul8
3-check one of the following: pitch, roll, yaw, accel (uncheck the other 3)
4-start midi mapping
5-select button in modul8
6-wave your wiimote
7-close midimapping in modul8
(repeat steps 3 to 7 for pitch, roll, yaw, accel)

and here my osculator settings
