:?: Hi,

I´m planning to buy a MIDI-controller.
What to buy?

Faderfox or Evolution UC-33e? Or something else?

My background is Video and not Music so I have no experience with MIDI mapping...

For which of the boxes exist ready button-setups?

Thanx,

Christian

Many VJs use the uc-33, compact and many possibilities. The UC-33 is in my opinion a nice controller for beginners , but also when used in a more professional case.
If you are looking for a controller with motorized faders, the BCF 2000 is a great controller when added to Modul8. Lots of possibilities.
Otherwise, try to find out what you would like the controller to do for you and then make your choice after.

and I shouldn't worry about how easy it is to set up - modul8's midi mapping makes it really easy. Select the parameter you want to adjust, twiddle the knob you want to use and it's set. I use a behringer BCR2000, my first midi controller and I had it set up and running with everything assigned in about half an hour...

I have a BCR as well and I'm fine with it. It has lots of knobs and a good deal of buttons. If you know where you want settings to go, setting it up would take only 5 mintues... I think a half hour includes trying to figure out what you want to go where.

sorry yea - half an hour is me messing about with the layout and deciding that putting the colour faders on the next row down would make more sense, then changing my mind and moving them back, and realising that I want a button for bpm tap, so do I move the still or invert button to my laptop keyboard - setting up from a technical point of view is installing the drivers and switching it on...
