    render tricks

    by mattblack » Thu Feb 26, 2009 7:28 pm

    hi
say i am using hidef clips with effects, and the output is at a very slow frame rate coz the effects are slowing it down. can i tell modul8 to process at a lower output resolution so it is faster, do a logical record, then render that logical record at a higher resolution to get full resolution/quality at full frame rate?

Can modul8 be used like this? it would make it more suitable as a production tool.

    thanks

I don't think so. Logical record is very slow and CPU hungry by itself and will most likely crash your project. Just get faster machine like MacPro and use record>capture to disk.

What you CAN do.. Is render a logical record with clips playing and Fx's on, it will render slow but I think that won't skip frames. So wgen you import that rendered clip it will play smooth.
    Give it a try.

    Cheers

Just do your perfomance using the Logical Recorder. After that render it using a good file codec (I always use Apple Intermediate or PhotoJPG). Voilá! Your video will be with a very good frame rate, without skipping anything.
