There will be some time before this will be ready. We want to be sure that the implementation we will make will be satisfactory.

For now if you are using modul8 there are some very good custom solutions for producing soft edge.

talking of edge blending, M8 is loosing ground.
Arkaos is being used as a low budget alternative to
big kit like Vista Spyder, watchout, hippos & Barco encore

big production forums like blueroom, it's mentioned loads

Modul8 needs softedge to compete.

We are aware of this. But we want to get this 'right' instead of rushing out due to pressure and getting it wrong. I think anyone would agree that having this implemented correctly is the preferable approach.

I appreciate what Ilan is saying. I'd much rather have a solid bit of software than a flakey "let's just get it out" version.
While we're requesting though, multiple MIDI maps pleaaaase! I'm sure this will be very simple to implement.

Cheers.

MIDI mapping makes me...

What do you mean exactly by 'multiple midi maps'?

being able to have more than "document" and "default" options. I use different configurations of MIDI controllers for different situations and set ups and at the moment I have multiple md8 preferences files with all the different mappings. Needless to say that though it works its messy and has the drawback of not only changing MIDI maps but other prefs too like the layouts.

Would being able to save mappings as separate files from the project documents be useful?

ok.. getting more and more off topic.. but it seems this could get something like a wishlist..

so could it be possible to have a manual midi mapping?
selecting a parameter and typing the prefered midi value in by hand?

could be much easier than filtering single messages by OSCulator or midipipe..

Exactly!!!
I think M8 would need clear and simple MIDI mapping tool where we could choose multiple MIDI devices to map to different controls. This blind work leads to frustration too often.
