Modul8 and Codanova VMX VJ, I am new to both... any advice

    Hi Everyone,

I am new to the forum and new to Modul8. I recently switched over from NuVJ after 2 years.

I sampled the demo for M8 and decided it was some pretty nice software! After searching for a suitable controller, I decided to spend the big money and get a VMX VJ.

Now I am faced with mapping the keys on the codanova...

My question is, being a total newbie to M8, what would be a good way to map up this VMX VJ. What I mean is what filters/M8 functions are most commonly used out of M8. There are so many options and truthfully, I really don't know what I will be using the most often.

What do you use or what can you suggest?

    Thanks!

I don't own one but we have one here at the office. Since I don't tend to use filters I tend to bind things that I most commonly use when performing with modul8.

The grid of buttons on the bottom left is good for changing media. The small round buttons with the lights are good for changing media sets. After that you're free to experiment.

Experimentation is the best way to get anywhere that works for you.

The question here is which ones YOU most commonly use. Have a play and find out. I can tell you from experience that however you map it the first time around won't be your final configuration.
