    VMX VJ

    by boil8014 » Mon Jul 20, 2009 1:42 pm

What is the best way to map the VMX. It seems difficult because you have many images in one dock and are unable to select them individually with the VMX. This makes it hard to select an effect on each clip. Also there does not seem to be enough buttons to map to all the options on modul8. Can anyone help.

    cheers, Boil

What do you mean with "one dock"?

You can't expect to have a physical controller for every parameter in md8, figure out what you need and map that.

tedious, no? it's almost like.. you have to work at it a bit. i'd suggest, let the VMX sit out for a bit, work out a +-30 minute set with just the mouse, and figure out from there which parameters you want to change with your controller during performance. there's no set formula to tell you what to do, which is why we all love professional creative software.

    I had one until recently

had a button for each clip and another button for each tab

also had a slider to scroll through the layers and then one slider for each layer transparency

    hardly used anything else.

It's cool i got it all under control. I was over complicating things. One problem I'm having though is that the jog wheels don't seem to be scratching properly. All I can seem to get it to do is start the clip from the beginning each time I turn it. Is there something I can do about this.

re: scratching. sometimes helps to set the speed of clip playback to null, depending on what yer doing.
