Hey
Would it be possible to use modul8 to project onto 5 surfaces - 4 walls and the cieling?
i will have 5 seperate clips to play but need them synched and they will be projected onto large walls so they will be large in size.

It is possible. You will need a Mac Pro with multiple video cards to do this. Use the BPM module and the BPM layer router module, 'pick' the 'scratch' knob for each layer and then trigger all of the clips at once.
To trigger all of the clips at once assign the same key or midi binding to trigger each media for its layer using the 'position' mode.

cool thanks - what's the best way of rendering a 3d environment into something like this? can modul8 manage anything like this?
I understand (maybe incorrect) that 3ds max can't output live the stream from 5 seperate camera queus into something like modul8 to project. is there anything else that might be able to do this?

From what I understand what you are trying to do is create a fully immersive environment?
From experience with these kinds of things I can tell you that it will be tricky to create the 'optical' effect you are trying to achieve without something like a domed projection.
From a technical point you will have to render each camera separately as a quicktime movie to be able to load the resulting clips into modul8.
Good luck!

I'm a big fan of vs media to layers
