Live DV Cam input problem ?

by Paul Sellis » Mon Aug 31, 2009 9:06 pm

    Hi,

I have trouble using a DV Cam as a live input in Modul8.
It's selected as the video source and the compression is set to DV Cam with Best quality and Progressive (no interlaced).

As you can see on this screen shot I have a problem on movements only (otherwise it's OK) : http://cjoint.com/data/iFu3DPZpYK.htm

What causes these lines, striates ?...

    Thank you for your help

    this is an interlacing artifact.

either fiddle with your codec/interlacing or apply a deinterlace filter downstream.

( sorry, I'm not 100% sure of the best solution)

yes I think too... but I asked for a progressive image...
    Is it a bug ?
    :?

I had the same problem before, in my very short Modul8 experience (getting an interlaced image even if I asked for a progessive one...) so I switch to "None" in compression choice. But because I got an non satisfying quality, I went back to DV progeressive, and this time my choice was respected!

Hum...interesting but where is there a "deinterlace filter" in Modul8 ?
(we speak of Live DV Pal event)
