Video Capturing

Hello to everyone!
I have a Problem with Videocapturing. I have a Macbook Pro, DDR3 Ramm 4 GB, Seagate HDD 7200rpm, Intel Core 2 duo 2,4 Ghz. Everytime when i try to Capture the Videomix to my HDD, it dont work fine. Sometimes it stops for 1 second, than it goes on. What is the best solution, to watch it in good Quality? I need it, because i will work with the captured mix in other programms, like final cut express.
