    new to this program i need help

    can i record live skratching on my turntables thru my web cam with sound import the video to modul8,put effects and whatever i want to do and then export it still with the original sound,and how do u install those petes fx or whateever, i have a macbook pro running 10.6.2 snow leopard any help would be appreiciated,thank you

    modul8 doesn't export sound directly.

    but it sounds like what you want is a compositing program like After Effects, not a live video mixer.

    Thanks, yea im looking to recod audio and video live, then add effects and filters to it like the filters in m8, but id like some kind of professional program, not like imovie or something, i want to recod me skratching live on the turntabels then add stuff and post those videos

    md8 is designed for live use although it can be used for compositing. For compositing you should use something like motion or after effects but I'm, afraid that you're going to have a steep learning curve and price if all you want to do is
    "add effects and filters to it like the filters in m8"

    Then again you say you want a professional program yet you're recording with a web cam!

    yea before i go out and spend money on a nice hd camcorder i want to make sure i can do what i want with the right programs. this is all trial and error for me all i was asking if u had any suggestions for a program that might work for me.i have,probably 10,000 dollars of dj equipment in my studio the web cam was just a quick way to record video im just gettin in to the video thing so its basically a throw away when i find out how to do what i want.

    use quick time pro,

    you can record visual out put and sound output no probs
