    Modul8 multiscreen output

    by datagrama » Sun Jun 06, 2010 8:39 pm

    Hi!
Im developing a visual setup for a club with Modul8 multiscreen output ( 6 individuals outputs). I have two questions:

    1. In the manual of Modul8 2.5. it says that "Using the Matrox Triplehead2go with Modul8" is possible to do that. Can you guys confirm this?

    2. Is it possible - with the right hardware (graphic board, processor and ram - let´s say - MAc pro Quad-Core desktop with 4 gb ram and Matrox triplehead2go) to do an indivudal mapping of each individual output?
Usually i use prespective transform to do this. Is is possible to control a prespective transform crop for each of the 6 screens outputs?
If so, are this specs of the machine enough? Is it possible to use outuputs such as 640x480 for each output without crashing frame rate?

Thank u right away and keep up the good work!

    Hi,
1- Yes it's possible, make a quick search in the forum with "tripleHead" or "doubleHead", we have already numerous comments about that. With Matrox cards, you must have very identical devices (same projectors or same plasma screens) or it will not work. There's also a graphic boards compatibility list on their site.

1-bis To manage six effective M8 outputs = 2 double outputs graphic boards = two TripleHead on each M8 output of the first card, and the second card to work.

2- You can do an individual mapping of each individual output.
4 Gb Ram seems insufficient to me to handle six outputs. Frame rat depends on your clips size and framerate.

There is no automatic response to your question, the better is test and test again.

It is possible but as it has been said you'll need a much better system than the one you mention to run it on.

Regarding the projectors, as long as they are all the same res they don't need to be matched if you'll be outputting as 6 different screens rather than one big composite one

    Hi Valparaiiso
I would be verry interested how you manage the individual mapping (perspective transform/crop) on each individual output.
I really don't get this to work....!!!
