    video resolution

by HighTech Nomads » Sat Aug 21, 2010 2:21 pm

    Hi.

I have some problem with the resolution and scaling.
    This is how we work:
My friend creates a mask in Photoshop and then imports the mask to After effects and creates the animations. (on a PC) He then renders them in 800x600 resolution. This is the resolution I use on the projector output from my mac.
But when I import them to Modul8 they don' t fit on the objects I want to map. By fit I mean that they are bigger when I project them.
The animations fits fine to the real object when playing them on the PC in VLC. He is also using 800x600 output resolution on the projector.

What can possibly be the difference?

Modul8 virtual stage is set to 640x480, when it fits your output resolution, it "scales" up the stage. If your medias are 800x600, they will be cropped on the stage. If you check the "normalize" checkbox, your media will fit the stage. Once you go fullscreen, you get all your pixels back
