syncing music from WITHIN Modul8

Instead of capturing an outside source and applying the "sound in" in the animation effects section to this outside source, is there a way I can load an audio track into module 8 and begin to construct a sequence from this internal source? (in other words i would like to construct a video sequence that always is in sync with an audio track that i am working on but to do it by inputting it from an outside source does not provide the accuracy i am looking for in terms of start and stop times etc.

You can play audio through modul8, just embed it in a quicktime.
I'm not sure what kind of accuracy you're talking about here though. It sounds like you might be after an editing and compositing application. not a live performance one. Alternatively use something like ableton to control modul8.

yes but the audio on a clip does not seem to have the ability to trigger the sound activated parameters - it seems like the parameters can only be triggered by this "capturing" of an external audio source through a sound in port.

To be honest I haven't tested this as you describe but:

The sound input will be whatever you set it up to be in your mac's preferences, the same with your sound output.

If you want to route sound from the same machine you can do it quick and dirty with a mini-jack to mini-jack cable from your mac's audio out to your mac's audio in. You will need a mini-jack headphone splitter to still be able to route the signal to an external amp. Or you can simply play your sounds through the built in speakers and let the built in microphone pick up that. Or you can use soundflower to route sound inside your mac.

I've just tested it and it works fine.
