Cropping Video Feature

Another feature I'd like to suggest for post-V2 Modul8 is the ability to crop a video clip -- in other words, the ability to select a horizontal or vertical outside boundary of a visual media and have it made completely transparent.

This has been suggested, as well as " masking layers"

yes but as you know, using a mask means losing a layer. Cropping would be very very interesting. Could it be a new function in the next Modul 8 version?

I don't think it will be directly integrated for the 2.5.
However:
<GREAT NEWS> the 2.5 will integrate FreeFrame support </GREAT NEWS>
so... cropping could be implementing pretty easily with a FreeFrame plug-in.

You have Pete's Plugins that have been compiled for Mac OS X and seems to work pretty well. It's true that the OS X versions are not as optimized as the x86 version. Also many FF filters simply do not have OS X versions yet.
Hopefully, it will change now that several OS X VJ applications start to support them.

Would it be premature to ask if you have a release date in mind for v2.5?
Cheers,
