I have to say you just made it public knowledge and I think it is awesome. I own an extensible visual software that has community contributed add on modules and, it seems you are saying, if I have a need that is beyond current scope of software as written I can submit for development from the garagecube brain trust. Some other vj's I know use other software just for this reason. I understand this would cost money but wow.

    Am I interpreting this correctly?

You are correct. What would be required is a highly detailed description of what is needed. The 'team' goes over it and then an approximate budgeting of time and money are determined. Mind you, programming time is very, very expensive. Furthermore, the proposal could be rejected based on a multitude of factors.

. ooooh - so if enough people wanted a feature we could get a ballpark estimate then launch a kickstarter.com drive ? ;)

That would be an interesting approach and one I would encourage and support as best I can.

Having trouble to make this work

    by vjleo » Sat May 07, 2011 11:08 pm

    Hi all,

First thanks to vade and collaborators for syphon.
I could not make M8 run the QT export or the Comp.

I have been able to send the video stream from processing to quartz.
I installed the QT Rehab on the correct folder.
I have kineme core 0.5.1 installed
    Running on Mac OS 10.6.5,
    Modul8 2.6.1
Quicktime 7 can open the composition and show it correctly. (but choppy)

A workaround that I was thinking was to go processing - (syphon) -> QT comp that creates a video input -> Modul8 video inputs. too much?

    help?

the frame rate in modul8 from quartz via syphon is lower ... is this because of QT Rehab
    solution ?
what's the plan with this ?

Would it be possible for a Modul8 Layer to capture frames from Syphon ?

It will be possible in a future release.

Yes! This is my dream, because right now I am forsed to fork my vissuals over to resolume over syphon and combine them there with jitter. But guys, your render engine is much better and I would rather do it within modul8!
