How do i start/ stop all media in one group?

    by djarth » Sun Mar 27, 2011 6:09 am

    Hi all,

Been playing around with Modul8 for few weeks, need some help.
I cant figure out how to start/ stop all media in one group at the same time.
Read the manual several times, don't seem to find it.

I have a set of QT movies in layers which i have to start all at the same time.

Can someone point me in the right direction

    Much appreciated!

    Thanks
    Justin

Easiest way would be a module. And set a button to do something like this:
    modul8.setValue('ctctrl_layer_movie_speedFactor', 0, 0)
That only sets speed to zero for each active layer but getting it to do all 5/10 layers should be easy enough.

You can also use the DC-Play-STOP module and simply bind 1 key to all play buttons and 1 key to all the stop buttons.

Depending on how soon you need it I can cook up a 2 button module that will do exactly what you need. Let me know.

Thank you all for the tips!

Sorry but how do you "bind" the buttons to one key?

I'm currently using a play all/ stop module with reset, but to play, it involves clicking on the speed and to stop, its to click on 0 speed.
Its a bit tricky for the play part as i might not click on the correct speed

Thanks again for all your help

    Brain fry... it's not possible.

To play and stop all layers all at once download the module I just uploaded 'DC-PLAY-STOP-ALL-LAYERS'

found something called 'Layer Selector'. i'll try that

starts multiple layers but i'll need to be playing other layers at the same time or at overlapping times, so won't reallyt work for me.

++ 'layer selector' activates a layer but can't start the clip if it's in 'play once' mode.
