I've been looking around for a midi controllers and found this
Akai Professional APC40 Ableton Performance Controller.

Has anyone had the chance to use it? and any thought on it?

I've personally used the MPD32 and its a lot of fun. im just thinking with the APC40 does it work like the monome pad? (except it has less buttons)

osculator is only an OSC bridge, it does not provide any user interface for the IPAD but you can use it with TouchOSC

don't know if you want your touchosc ipad interface to look just like the modul8 interface but check this

thats awsome!

i dnt really need layer faders since they can be triggered to fade by buttons anyways.
but i love the knobs!

Hey man, I seriously wish you would consider Lividinstruments CODE, it has knobs galore with talckback. When you VJ a trigger button is a waste of space, especially since CODE knobs are buttons as well. CODE is expensive, but I do not believe it is overpriced, the controller is really well designed!

One of the chaps that works for Livid was just telling me about their new elements design where you can customize/personalize the hell out of your controller. pricey yes but well worth every penny.

i have the Livid CNTRL:R but cannot customize the buttons the way i like em using their Livid Software "Editor"...

i basically want all buttons to toggle and send as CTL instead of 'notes'
but the software is not saving it to the hardware. is this a known issue?

The Novation ZeRO SL MkII hooked to my Mac by USB via their Automap software allows for comprehensive editing of MIDI CCs and its buttons faders & pots functions. Switches can be momentary or toggle while pots and faders can have their ranges adjusted (0-127). Also, an old 32 note Midi keyboard is a better media selector. Currently experimenting with Hexler's TouchOsc and TouchOsc Bridge on an iPad.
