I've been told that, for example,, my iBook which doesn't appear as having a supported videocard, is indeed accelerated, and the 12" powerbook, has a card which is not supported, though it's shown as if it was.

I wouldn't be surprised. Will have to check the CI thing though with soime software. Any recomendations?

If you have installed the developer tools, you can find many examples here:

/Developer/Examples/Quartz/Core Image/

Try the FunHouse example. It allows you to test nearly all filters.

I'm not sure but I think that the latest version of Graphic Converter supports also CI.

There is also this application (never tried):

I don't have my iBook DVD here with me, so i will have to wait until I return to Buenos Aires to install it all, because I want to have a play with Quartz Composer as well.

I think they wanted to put too many new stuff in modul8 and now they must change a lots of things in the engine and it doesn't seem so easy...

There will be a new engine in Modul8 2.5 (+ the old one for machines which do not support CoreVideo).

This new engine was supposed to be achieved for the 3.0, but due to various problems with CoreImage/Freeframe I decided to finish it for the 2.5. Performances and stability is very important for a software like Modul8, so we prefer to delay the release until everything is okay.

The release date will be announced in this forum.

Patience is a virtue I don't have either, but still, great art can't be rushed

(if they said "April 12" and it wasn't ready by then, people would be angry about the date being missed). I've got shows coming up as well, but I want M8 to be rock solid and bug-free, and sometimes that takes longer than expected...
