No more mixer blending modes in M8 2 ???

    by VJZ » Thu Nov 10, 2005 10:58 pm

In Modul8 version 1 (1.1) there used to be 4 different blending modes for layers - normal, light, dark and exclusion. this are very powerful and useful compositing tools and could work much better than luma key in many ways.
Anyway - in version 2 they are gone! and nobody even mention them anymore (I actually hoped to see more of them in V2)

I find it a little weird that a feature is dropped when an update comes to a software.

Will they ever be back :?:

These modes were very difficult to integrate with the cross-fader. A revision of the engine is required to re-implement them. They should be back for the next major revision of the engine (V3.0).

Thank you for the quick reply. At least I can see the reason behind that now.
I'll wait for them in V3.

besides - cheers for a really great application.

I would love to see more blending modes in next versions of modul8, something like overlays, or dunno, other stuff.

    is that possible?

additive and subtractive would be superb. this is one of the things that i miss most about compositing live.
