    no sound output

    by vjfj » Sun Nov 13, 2005 5:05 pm

hi i just bought modul8 and was trying to use the audio to trigger effects. i can get sigtnal in and can adjust the input level using the knob in the master section at the bottom right, however the one next to it "out" is greyed out. i hear no audio output period. i don't see anywhere in prefs to set the audio to play through. my system settings are set to receive audio signal on line in. i tried both line out (to monitors) and my sound stix. i have an iMac G5 revB.

also, i noticed that if i have a movie playing in channel A and one in B when i fade to ch A the movie plays sluggish until i turn all clips in B off, after which it plays smooth. anyway to set it so that priority is assigned to the active bus?

thx for any help! otherwise the pgm plays my 640*480 files amazingly smoothly.

Check that the option "Always Ignore Sound Channels" in the preferences is not set. (Be sure to quit and relaunch Modul8 after you changed this option).

i did check that. it's not checked. on relaunch the pgm the button was no longer greyed out - however i still cannot hear any external audio being passed through to the outputs of my mac (line out or sound sticks). all i see is the audio going in by the way the clips are being affected.
