best place to trigger clips

hi - is it better to store and play the clips on an external (7200rpm) firewire drive or directly from the local HD?

It depends what you have as internal harddrive and computer. If you are using a PB firewire is the best option... trying to mix the contents half on your PB and half on the Firewire.
If you have sata for example in a G5
forget about the firewire

i have a G5 serial ATA. and so far (other than my "other" problem) works fine...

I did a test with my G5 running the clips off of the internal VS running them off of a 7200rpm external firewire drive. The performance was very similar.
