    by slave » Tue Dec 06, 2005 1:22 pm

how do I export vector illustrations the best way. when I use swf or pdf format the transparency is not preserved or do I need to adjust the settings. vector is way crisper than pixel, that’s why I am asking

the best way is to use illustrator and export for the web as png-24. it will keep the transparency.

Modul8 is not able to render vector data. Soon or later it will be translated to a bitmap before being rendered.

I you use a big picture the result will be close to a vector.
For that you need to uses a picture resolution close to your output résolution like 768 x 576 for a PAL output or 1024 x 768 for XGA output.
    ( Modul8 supports up to 4000 x 4000 bitmap ).

thanks for your help but when I use a real big png file up to 3000 x 3000 pixel modul8 gets really slow and i just got my new pb two weeks ago…

wel,l anyway, thanks for your help, maybe in v2.5 the blurr problem gets better with better rendering!

We found a problem on Tiger with the picture filtering and we fixed it (it works well with panther).
The picture rendering (with Tiger) will be better in the version 2.5 and we added also an option to disable the bilinear filtering.
