I'd like to be able to tun a MIDI dial (or slider) controller and have it step through layers (i.e. turn the dial right and it goes down through the layers, selecting each in turn, turn in left and it goes up).
Also, be able to assign a MIDI dial controller and have it step through tabs, such as the layer sets (I believe they're called) and the tabs in the media bin.
For the actual media, I'd like to suggest a slight change in how it works. Allow one controller to scroll through the clips from top left to bottom right, highlighting them but not selecting them. Then allow another MIDI event to actually select the highlighted clip, dropping it into the currently-selected layer.
This would be GREAT for using the Behringer BCR2000 to control Modul8. It looks like an ULTIMATE controller, with 20 programmable buttons, 24 programmable infinite-turn dials, and a 4-bank-selectable set of 8 dials that are dials and also buttons.
I'd love to be able to program one of the top dial/buttons to scroll through media clips with a turn, then select the current clip with a push. Have another dial that scrolls through layers, another for the A/B, etc, et.
With that many dials, you actually have a chance of having enough to actually run Modul8 entirely from the controller. I'm pretty anal and would even probably limit myself to 8 layers so that things map nicely into the 8 columns of dials.
