Hi

I'm new to this Modul8 software but it looks really interesting and its something I'd like to get into. I was just wondering if it was possible to create this video effect http://www.pipslab.nl/parade/index.php using Modul8? If so is it hard to do? I'm guessing it's a transparency overlay which is wrot into everytime ligth above a certain threshold is received on the incoming video.

Thanks

oh man. I was talking about wanting to do exactly that on the forum here recently but their execution is perfect. thats great. I think you're right about the threshold.
the answer is that if you set up a camera in modul-8 and assign a luma key, and turn the trace up, and all other layers are off, you'll get something with reduced frames but no nice trails. and it doesn't have a threshold cutoff so the light and everything else is going to stay on screen and keep moving together.
Yves and Boris, if you could somehow program this one with the clarity and nice trailing this has, I'll send you a big bottle of wine and a young female to share (I probably couldn't afford two).

very nice.

there was a thread on vjforums a while back about achieving the same effect using freeframe plugs (http://www.vjforums.com/showthread.php? ... =threshold) with syzygy and inside us all both making versions - so should already be possible when we get 2.5 :)

Cheers Freakowen that's some interesting stuff! Do you know if Syzygy Visuals are still going? I'd like to get my hands on that plugin pack, sounds cool. I've tried their website but it doesn't seem to be working :(

And, do you know if they've been ported to Mac?

Cheers,
