hi if i have a second video card, is it possible to assign M8 to output to that while i output a different signal to my other card? all that i see is "full window" mode. is there a setting where i can have more control?

send two separate signals (output from M8 to one card and output from another pgm)

in other words, if i have 2 cards 'A' & 'B' select videocard 'A' as output of M8 and video output 'B' for another application.

of course that leads to the question is it possible to split M8 ooutput into 2 and send each one to a separate video card output/beamer

In the next version 2.5 it will be possible to use multi output, but only with pci-express video card. (last G5 tower).

i assume then, you mean if i have 2 video cards installed i can run one signal from one card using extended desktop mode, and a second, different signal out of M8 from the other video card.by different signal i mean not the same mixed output but a different mix altogether. is that the case? or will it function like a "mirror" mode, simply allowing me to send two signals of the same mix?

You will be able to send any area (even overlapping rectangles of different size) of the whole composition to any of the VGA output. It is very flexible and performances are pretty good.

With two cards, you can have four different outputs (one used for the UI).

which card do you suggest for the 4 output configuration?

It works well with a simple pci-express NVIDIA GeForce 6600.
You can use 4 VGA output.

But with these card, if you want to use video, it seems you have only two vidéo composite output (one per card) and also two VGA.

do you need to buy an Nvidia card for MAC or does any Nvidia 6600 fits a Mac (sorry ,i know it's not the topic for this forum, but it would help...) ?

I'm looking to spec out a G5 tower with five outputs for a large installation.... want to go video rather than VGA if possible.

hmm just checked it out...

each Geforce 6600 has two DVI outputs. What stops you installing 2 6600 cards, connecting one as VGA for your interface window then buying three DVI-S-Video converters.

Does the Mac OS X software not work with this? otherwise it's scan converters I guess...

So if you have 2 or 3 beamers with an edge blending, you can overlap the borders of each screen easily to make a panoramic screen, keeping a great resolution, am i right?

Eskatonia: From our test it was not possible to have two video outputs on the same Geforce 6600. You can have 1 VGA + 1 Video or 2 VGAs, but not 2 videos. Don't know if it is a hardware limitation.
