Other then the Syphon input I heard the new Modul8 will have 20 layers and 256 spots in the media bank. It will implement the latest Python and offer OSC like never before seen. To top it all off if you buy the Thunderbolt or USB attachment it will give you a handy under the table.

If any of you are like me and have been checking Twitter, Facebook, Modul8.us and this site every 5 minutes since 2PM EST Friday, what I posted above is pure fabrication. I was hoping to spur actual facts from the keepers of the knowledge.

My guess is severe Absinthe hangovers.

Well based on this screen shot on Twitter there will (one day) be a new version of Modul8 - v2.7.
So far all we know is that it will support Syphon as a Video Capture input.

    From Facebook

"Modul8 - Recovering from the after party. Will post as soon as the nice photos have been gathered."

This may just be Mapping festival info but my guess is still Absinthe.

I too, have been on top of the sites, but still waiting patiently. Syphon input is definitely a plus! That would make my life much easier with my devices and software choice.
    How about another screenshot

If I'm not mistaken, it seems to me that Syphon input is really the only new feature that was announced for Modul8. Not that Syphon isn't significant, but it kind of felt like we were waiting more for a 3.0 version than an incremental update. Am I wrong?

Also, it appears that http://www.modul8.us/ is offline currently...

12 days later, still no updates? Syphon only? I already have achieved this issue.
    Modul8 2.7?
Yes Modul8 is very stable for me, but I am contemplating on switching software. Resolume has been demoed and I do like the more control and more advanced architecture.

Is this the wrong thread to be posting? Future of Modul8?
    Thanks in advance

We did a blog post on the Modul8 blog. The event was mainly about the forthcoming MIDI hardware and then there is a tiny teaser at the end. As I write at the end the development team is keeping things under wraps for now.

I can't remember hearing any promises of a new M8 version to be released at the Mapping festival. It would have been a very good moment to drop a new version however. I expect to se a public beta before the release of a major version. But I guess we'll be in the dark for a bit longer.
